Ingredients

Amino Acids

Amino acids are the essential building blocks of proteins, nine of which cannot be manufactured by the body, and therefore have to be obtained through food intake and supplements.

Amino acids aid in building new muscle, bone and tendon cells.  They play a vital role in metabolism, stamina, and brain function.  They also enable vitamins and minerals to be properly absorbed and assimilated.

L-Arginine

DESCRIPTION:  L-Arginine is an essential amino acid that aids in liver detoxification and is helpful in liver disorders. It helps to reduce tumors and cancer. It may also assist in elevating the sperm count in males.

The body uses arginine during periods of growth and protein synthesis. It is helpful during trauma or kidney conditions. When L-Arginine is present, there is a reduction in body fat and an increase in muscle mass. It can stimulate growth hormones and detoxifies ammonia from the body.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS:  May aid in maintaining a healthy heart.

FOOD SOURCES:  Most proteins foods such as eggs, dairy products, meat, and nuts.

L-Glutamine

DESCRIPTION:  L-Glutamine is found in high concentrations in the human brain where it is converted to glutamic acid. Taken in modest amount, glutamine can substantially increase your production of growth hormone.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS:  Assists in brain fog, mental alertness and clarity. Decreases sugar cravings. May aid in mental disorders senility and schizophrenia. Maintains a healthy digestive tract and is important in alcoholism.

FOOD SOURCES:  Animal and vegetable proteins.

L-Glycine

DESCRIPTION:  Glycine is a non-essential amino acid that is used to make up glutathione. So it is a helper in making other non-essential amino acid. If too much of this amino acid taken, it can result in lethary and fatigue.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS:  Helps maintain the immune system. Aids in prostate health and bi-polar depression. Aids in the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord).

FOOD SOURCES:  Beans, dairy products, fish, and meat.

L-Isoleucine

DESCRIPTION:  L-Isoleucine is an essential amino acid that is part of a branced chain amino acid group with leucine and valine. These three should always be taken together. It is one of several essential amino acids needed in the diet and humans cannot synthesize it from simpler metabolites. It can be degraded into simpler compounds by enzymes. In a rare, inherited disorder called maple syrup urine disease, an enzyme that is not functioning in the common pathway of isoleucine, leucine and valine causes the buildup of certain metabolites in the urine, resulting in the characteristic odor from which the disease gets its name.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS:  It is needed to form of hemoglobin and regulates blood sugar levels. Therefore, if there is an imbalance, hypoglycemia could develop. It gets metabolized in the muscles and has to be taken with leucine and valine.

FOOD SOURCES:  Almonds, beef, cashews, chicken, cottage cheese, eggs, fish, soy, lentils, liver, milk, and seeds.

L-Leucine

DESCRIPTION:  L-Leucine is an essential amino acid that should be used in combination with valine and isoleucine. It is often recommended to those who are recovery from any type of operation. Take in moderation to prevent hypoglycemia.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS:  Aids in healing tissues such as bones, muscle and skin.

FOOD SOURCES:  High protein foods such as almonds, beans, beef, brown rice, Brazil nuts, cashews, chicken, corn, eggs, fish, soy, liver, whole wheat, chick peas, and lentils.

L-Lysine

DESCRIPTION:  An essential amino acid which helps maintain nitrogen levels and calcium absorption. It is often taken during a breakout of the herpes virus, either oral or genital. It helps produce enzymes, antibodies and hormones and helps repair tissue. This amino acid also is important when recovering from an operation. It also helps build strong muscles, collagen, bone and cartilage.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS:  Helps those recovering from sports injuries and surgery.

FOOD SOURCES:  High protein sources such as beef, cheese, chicken, lamb, milk, and beans.

L-Ornithine

DESCRIPTION:  It is a non-essential amino acid that is manufactured from the amino acid arginine. It is used to metabolize nitrogen. It should be taken with arginine. It also facilitate the metabolizing of body fat.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS:  Aids the liver and immune system.

FOOD SOURCES:  Fish, meat, beans, and dairy.

L-Tyrosine

DESCRIPTION:  L-Tyrosine is used by the thyroid gland to produce thyroxin. Thyroxin is a hormone that helps regulate growth, healthy skin, our metabolic rate and our mental health. Low levels of tyrosine have been connected with hypothyroidism. Tyrosine is used in our body to make epinephrine and dopamine. It reduces body fat and is an appetite suppressant.

POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS:  Contraindicated for people with high blood pressure, skin cancer and those who are using MAO inhibitors.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS:  Has been used to help withdrawal from drugs.

FOOD SOURCE:  Meat and dairy products.

L-Valine

DESCRIPTION:  L-Valine is an essential amino acid and is used in combination with leucine and isoleucine. They should be supplemented in combination with each other.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS:  L-Valine is a stimulant, so it may help with energy levels and promote tissue repair.

FOOD SOURCES:  Soy, flour, cottage cheese, fish, beef, and lamb.

Vitamins
